When did Caritas Arua Diocese started and what services were offered?

Caritas Arua Diocese started in 1986 as a relief office after the return of refugees from Congo and Sudan.By that time Caritas’ main services were to give out food and tents but due to increased demand for food, Social Services Development (SSD) now Caritas turned its services into provision of farm tools and agricultural inputs.

Caritas Arua Diocese main Office is Located at Ediofe Mission, P.O.BOX 135, Ediofe Mission, Arua-City, and Sub-office is located in Yumbe District to carry out field activities in the refugee camps

We work in nine civil districts in West Nile particularly under Arua Diocese and we work in the following district; Adjumani, Arua, Koboko, Madi-Okollo, Maracha, Moyo, Obongi, Refugees & Migrants Areas,Terego, Yumbe.

Can I volunteer with Caritas?

Most volunteering opportunities are offered through Administration, which are embedded in the communities and respond to local needs. Roles may vary — from supporting people in crisis to helping with community programmes or parish outreach.
